Creative Movement (Ages 2-4)

A 45 minute pre-k class exploring the dynamics of space, time, shape, and flow. Designed to encourage creativity and motor skills, this class is a great way to introduce your child to dance technique.
Class Attire: Comfortable clothing that allows for dynamic movement and hair must be secured neatly. Most of our dancers wear ballet attire.

Pre-Pointe Ballet (Ages 10-Up)

This class requires a readiness assessment with the Studio Director before registering.
Ballet is a classical dance form that is upheld with integrity within our studio. We focus heavily on technique and form while stressing the importance of expression and performance through the genre. Dancing on pointe requires proper spine alignment, turn out from the hips, strong ankles and good balance. In this class we prepare and introduce our students to this challenging and beautiful art form. Dancers must have at least two years of dance experience before participating in this class.
Class Attire: Solid colored leotard, pink or black tights, pink ballet shoes, hair secured neatly in a bun.

Contemporary (Ages 9-11)

This welcoming class introduces young dancers to the foundations of Contemporary dance. Dancers will explore expressive movement, musicality, balance, flexibility, and creativity while building confidence and learning the basics of contemporary technique. Perfect for beginners who are ready to move, create, and grow in a fun, encouraging environment.
Class Attire: Leotard encouraged, or comfortable dancewear such as leggings, shorts with tights, and a fitted top. Lyrical shoes. Hair should be secured neatly away from the face.

Jazz 1 (Ages 5-8)

This upbeat class introduces young dancers to the foundations of Jazz dance. Dancers will develop coordination, rhythm, flexibility, and musicality while learning proper jazz technique through warm-ups, across-the-floor progressions, and fun choreography. Perfect for beginners who are ready to build confidence, express themselves, and have fun in a positive, encouraging environment.

Tap 2 (Ages 9-16)

Tap 2 is designed for older dancers and those who have already built a foundation in tap. Older dancers who are new to tap are also welcome to join this class. Hip Hop 2 (Ages 9-11)

Hip Hop is an explorative form of dance that plays with different rhythms and energetic movements. This form of dance is perfect for all levels! Class Attire: Comfortable clothing with sneakers that allow for dynamic movement, hair must be secured neatly.

Adult Dance Lab (Ages 16-Up)

Adult Dance Lab is a welcoming class for all experience levels. Whether you're stepping into a dance studio for the first time or returning after years away, you'll find a fun, encouraging community where everyone belongs.
Every six weeks, we'll explore a new dance style—including Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Tap, and Ballet—giving you the chance to learn something new while building confidence along the way.
Our goal isn't perfection—it's to move, grow, laugh, and enjoy dancing together. Register for a single 6-week session or save by enrolling for the full dance year.

Pre-Ballet (Ages 4-7)

Pre-ballet serves our students as a stepping stone from our Creative Movement class to our beginner-level Ballet class. Students will begin to build upon the the technical foundation that they began in Creative Movement while beginning to implement the discipline and poise of the classical ballet style.
This 45-minute class is great for new students that fall into this age group and wish to concentrate on building their technique, or for students that wish to pursue ballet more intensely.

Pointe Ballet (Ages 11-Up)

Pointe Ballet is a classical dance style that focuses on strength, grace, and precise technique while dancing on the tips of the toes using specialized pointe shoes. This genre builds on a strong foundation of ballet training and emphasizes balance, control, and artistry. Pointe helps dancers develop confidence, poise, and the ability to perform with elegance. Prior ballet experience is required for registration, and instructor approval is necessary to ensure readiness and safety.
Class Attire: Leotards are required, pink tights, ballet skirts optional, pointe shoes (fitted by a professional), and hair must be secured in a neat bun.

Contemporary/Jazz (Ages 11-13)

This fun, upbeat class introduces young dancers to the basics of both Contemporary and Jazz dance! Dancers will explore rhythm, musicality, and expressive movement while building confidence, coordination, and creativity. Perfect for beginners ready to move and groove.
Class Attire: Leotards encouraged, comfortable dance clothes (leggings, shorts with tights, fitted shirts), jazz shoes or lyrical shoes, and hair secured neatly.

Clogging 2 (Ages 9-16)

Clogging originated in the Appalachian Mountains as a mountain man’s folk dance. The roots of this quick step dance come from Irish step dancing (as seen in River Dance) and Holland’s wooden shoe dance. This fun and upbeat class is a great way to connect to our Appalachian culture. This class will focus on traditional Appalachian dance technique. We will have two separate times for beginners and intermediate dancers with a hoedown in the middle focusing on partner work. Dancers will also learn other traditional folk dances such as running set and Smooth Dancing.

Technique Lab (Ages 8-Up)

Technique Lab is designed for dancers ages 8 and up who are ready to challenge themselves and take their dancing to the next level. This add-on class focuses on building strong technical skills through targeted training in strength, flexibility, balance, turns, jumps, and overall movement quality.
Rather than learning recital choreography, dancers will spend class time refining technique, improving body awareness, and developing the skills needed to grow in every style of dance. Technique Lab is the perfect opportunity for dancers who are motivated to work hard, build confidence, and reach their full potential.
Please Note: Technique Lab is an add-on class that complements a dancer's regular classes. This class does not perform in the annual recital.
Class Attire: Leotard encouraged, or comfortable dancewear such as leggings, shorts with tights, and a fitted top. Jazz shoes or half soles may be worn depending on the instructor's focus. Hair should be secured neatly away from the face.

Hip Hop 3 (Ages 12-Up)

Hip Hop is an explorative form of dance that plays with different rhythms and energetic movements. This form of dance is perfect for all levels! Class Attire: Comfortable clothing with sneakers that allow for dynamic movement, hair must be secured neatly.

Trove Company (Ages 11-Up)

Trove Company is The Boone Dance Trove's performance and competition team for dancers who are ready to take their training to the next level. Company dancers receive focused technical instruction, perform throughout the community, attend regional competitions, and grow in a supportive team environment built on excellence, encouragement, and community.
Placement is based on technical readiness rather than traditional auditions, creating a positive and encouraging experience for every dancer. Interested dancers are encouraged to attend our Trove Company Summer Intensive to prepare for the upcoming season.
